At Pari Permanent Cosmetics, one rule to swear by is that you are what you eat – and this is all very true when it comes to foods for your skin.

Let’s face it – 2020 has been a crazy year. One where we’ve spent more time at home than usual. So, it’s likely that we’ve also indulged in bad snacks and foods more than usual, too.

If you’ve been lacking in eating healthy, then you may have noticed your skin showing the effects. But with our finally getting back to normal (or the new norm as some are calling it), it’s time for us to get back to good habits!

Here are 5 foods to help you get your glowing skin back – fast!

Carrots

Remember when your grandparents would say “Eat your carrots, they help you see in the dark!” – Well, they may not give you night vision, but they will certainly help bring back your glowing skin.

One of the main superpowers of carrots is battling against skin breakouts. Their antioxidants help to keep cell production levels in the skins outer layer healthy, without overproduction. When your skin overproduces cells, they tend to block up your pores and BOOM – an outbreak happens.

Stock up on these orange heroes – you will be glad you did.

Sweet Potatoes

When it comes to detoxing your skin and body, a lot of people choose the low-carb path, but that doesn’t have to be the case. Cutting down on starchy carbs is beneficial, but eating complex carbs, like sweet potatoes is also good for your body.

Sweet potatoes are high in Vitamin A. What does Vitamin A do? It helps to minimize oily skin. In fact, if you suffer from acne then sweet potatoes can bring down any breakouts as well as lower future breakouts, too.

Don’t believe the hype – carbs are actually very good for you.

Avocados

Ok, you got me – super guacamole fan right here! And if you’re obsessed with Avocados as much as I am, then you’ll be grateful to hear that they’re great for tackling dry skin.

Avocados are high in Vitamin E, which help with healthy skin cell building and improve your skin hydration, too.

So, if you struggle with dry skin – it’s guacamole time!

Salmon

Finally, let’s talk fish.

2020 has been a stressful year, so far, which hasn’t helped with battling those pesky lines on our forehead and eyes. If you’ve noticed your wrinkles getting more prominent – firstly, don’t panic – it’s natural. Secondly, good news – there are natural ways to battle them too!

Fish is super healthy and beneficial for our body. I’m sure you’re already well aware of that. But, Salmon in particular is a valuable dish for reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

Why? Well it’s mostly down to the Omega-3 fatty acids. These acids help to produce collagen in our skin. And what does collagen do? – It fills out those lines!

If you want to tackle wrinkles naturally, then I recommend adding Salmon to your diet at least once or twice a week. It will provide you with so many good nutrients.
